TARİŞ is the common name of four-Cooperative Unions, the roots of which
extend back to 1910's, first for the products
of figs and raisins and then for cotton and olive oil.
The word "TARİŞ" consists of the initial syllables of the banks Agricultural
Bank (Ziraat Bankası) and İş Bankası which supported TARİŞ Figs, Raisins,
Cotton and Oil Seeds, Olive and Olive Oil Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union,
each having a legal personality at the incorporation stage.
TARİŞ presently continues to make a common roof sheltering four different producer
organizations under which 106 cooperatives are associated and 100.000 producers
partners are organized in 7 provinces of Aegean Region.
Tariş Sulatana Raisins Union was founded through Vine Grower Cooperatives, which
were the first established in Alaşehir in 1931 and then in Manisa, Turgutlu and
Salihli with the purpose of stopping the drop of sultanas prices resulting from
the effect of Global Economic Crisis.
In 1938, Vine Grower Cooperative, which had started its activities as a producer
cooperative, merged with Sultana Raisins Union ( Tariş Limited Company) which was
jointly established by Türkiye İşbank and Agricultural Bank with the purpose of
regulating sultana raisins market and maintain its activity under the name of Tariş
Sultanas Raisins Union.
Tariş Sultana Raisins Union, which is one of the most long-established agricultural
cooperatives of our country, is one of the largest sultana buyers and exporters of
Turkey through sultana raisins it produces and exports today.
General Management of Tariş Union is located in İzmir. 13 Sultana Raisins Agricultural
Sales Cooperatives carry out activities by being the department on our union. These
are Alaşehir, Çobanisa, Buldan and Menemen Cooperatives. Our 13 cooperatives
hold 15.000 grower members within its body.
Tariş Sultana Raisins Union processes sultanas, produced by its grower members through
chemical fertilizers and agricultural pesticides, which are approved by Tariş R&D
Management, in integrated Sultana Raisins Plant which is equipped with advanced
technology according to customer demands and offer them to the pleasure of consumer
by Tariş brand mark and guarantee.
